Pines Terraced House
Engulfed by a grove of pine trees, this Fire Island home boasts the best of indoor/outdoor living on three separate planes, offering more and more privacy as you ascend. Stacked cubic forms create a ladder to the sky to allow for stunning views of both the bay and the beach.
The massing of the house is low at the street and high at the interior of the property, hosting very specific outdoor functions such as, swimming, eating, cooking, and sitting. The traditional Fire Island wood siding is arranged in a diagonal configuration alternating in a double-book-matched pattern reinforcing the stacked cubic forms. The siding echoes the color of the sand, grounding it in place.
