The Flower Farm
Nestled into the hills outside of New York City, The Flower Farm repurposes a retired country club property. Two neglected amenity buildings are reimagined working hand-in-hand as flower-focused meeting and teaching spaces.
A wood base that wraps inside and outside, helps the buildings to blend with the surrounding landscape. Each building has elegantly contrasting white metal roofs boasting deep overhangs, providing shelter while creating depth and shadow.
The buildings are surrounded by a pervious skirt of outdoor spaces. The skirts are loosely defined by an ambiguously blurred edge of natural ground cover. Moreover, the outdoor spaces are thoughtfully interconnected with the sloped contours of the land.
Both buildings skew intentionally neutral to allow a palate of tulips, poppies and other vivid floral colors to become the focal point.
